Arabian Desert Safaris
What time does an evening desert safari start and finish?+
Pickup is between 2:30 pm and 3:30 pm depending on your hotel. You reach the dunes about an hour later, watch the sunset, spend three to four hours at the camp and are back at your hotel around 9:30 pm.
What should I wear?+
Loose, light clothing and closed shoes or sandals you do not mind getting sand in. Bring a light jacket from November to March, evenings get cool. Sunglasses and sunscreen for the dune stop.
Is dune bashing safe for children and pregnant women?+
Dune bashing is not suitable for pregnant women, children under three, or anyone with back or neck problems or heart conditions. Guests who prefer to skip it are driven to the camp by the flat track and join the group there at no extra cost; tell us in the booking notes.
Are the camps licensed to serve alcohol?+
Some are, some are not. Each tour page shows whether the camp has a licensed bar, and the alcohol package only appears as an add-on where it is allowed. Bringing your own alcohol into the desert is illegal in the UAE.
Is there vegetarian or halal food?+
All food at the camps is halal. Every buffet has vegetarian dishes; vegan and gluten-free options are available on request when you book.
Can I customise my safari?+
Yes, that is the point of this site. Every tour has a base price and a list of add-ons such as quad biking, a private VIP table, a drinks package or a private vehicle. Pick what you want and the price updates as you go.
How does payment work?+
It depends on the camp. Some take full payment online by card, some take a deposit and the balance in cash or card at the camp, and some take nothing until you arrive. The tour page and the booking page both say which applies before you commit.
What is the cancellation policy?+
Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your pickup time. Inside 24 hours the booking is non-refundable, because the camp has already reserved your seats and dinner. Weather cancellations by us are refunded in full.
Does the safari run during Ramadan?+
Yes. Camps operate as normal, and the buffet is served after sunset as usual. Music and shows may be reduced in some camps during Ramadan.
Who will pick me up?+
A licensed desert driver in a 4x4, usually a Toyota Land Cruiser. Once a driver has accepted your booking you receive their name and vehicle, and they message you on WhatsApp before pickup.
